Where do the animals at MM Animal Rescue come from?

Our animals are mostly strays from Romania. Many have been abandoned, left for dead, or born on the streets to previous strays. Alongside supporting spay campaigns to reduce the stray population, we rescue the animals most in need and place them for adoption. Some animals are also born into our rescue after we save pregnant mums and give them a safe place to give birth.

How can I support MM Animal Rescue?

You can support us by donating, sponsoring an animal monthly, or donating through our Facebook group events. You can also volunteer your time to fundraise and help spread awareness of our mission. Every bit of help makes a difference and is greatly appreciated.

What services does MM Animal Rescue provide?

We provide rescue, rehabilitation and adoption services for cats and dogs in need. We specialise in finding forever homes for abandoned, lost and surrendered animals, and provide basic veterinary care, spay/neuter services and behavioural assessments for our rescues.

How does the adoption process work?

Potential adopters first complete an application about their lifestyle, living situation and reasons for wanting a pet. Once approved, we arrange a home visit to ensure a good fit. Successful adopters sign an adoption contract and pay an adoption fee; our team then provides post-adoption follow-up and support.

What tests do the animals have before travel?

Dogs (1 year+) — 4D Snap: heartworm, Lyme disease, ehrlichia, anaplasma and brucellosis.

Dogs (under 1 year) — Distemper, babesia, leishmania, brucellosis and giardia.

Cats — FIV/FELV.

How much does adoption cost?

Adoption costs vary by animal. Our typical fee is £450 for dogs and £250 for cats. Fees include spay/neuter where appropriate (over 6 months), microchipping, vaccinations, full testing and any other necessary medical care. Please contact us for more information.
